Key facts only, trimmed to fit; each card's page has the full wording, sources and checked dates. "Sites" is the issuer's own claim. "Not published" means we couldn't find the figure on the issuer's public pages. "Unverified" values are partly confirmed; see the card page for why.

Where can you fill up?

Germany has many fuel brands and a dense web of acceptance deals. Oil-company cards often work at partner brands, Routex links Aral with its European partners, and multi-brand cards reach almost every station.

  1. Aral and Routex

    • Aral
    • bp
    • Circle K
    • Enilive
    • OMV
    • AVIA

Aral Komfort: about 2,400 Aral stations, for up to 5 vehicles. The bp + Aral card (trucks and mixed fleets; fees not published) works across Routex: 30,000+ stations in 32 countries on one Aral page, 24,000+ on another. Routex is an alliance (Aral, bp, Circle K, Enilive, OMV), not an issuer; routex.com/de says 'rund 30.000 Tankstellen in 32 Ländern' and 21,000+ in 34 on the same page. AVIA joined Routex on 31 Mar 2025, which AVIA says brings about 6,000 German sites. Enilive Multicard: 'über 21.000 Service-Stationen'.12345

    Cards: Aral Komfort

  2. Shell, Esso and partners

    • Shell
    • Esso
    • AVIA
    • Eni/Agip
    • star/ORLEN
    • Westfalen
    • OMV

Shell Card: 'rund 5.300 Akzeptanzstellen in Deutschland und über 26.000 in ganz Europa', with partners AVIA, Eni/Agip, Esso, star/ORLEN and Westfalen. Corpay (Fleetcor), which serves Shell's small customers, offers 10 ct/L for 3 months, then 6 ct/L at selected Shell stations. A reseller quotes about 1.5% of the gross invoice plus about €20 a year per card (unconfirmed). Esso Card: 'über 2.740 Tankstellen in Deutschland' (other figures 2,790+ to 3,100); Esso Card Europe 13,300+ in 7 countries (elsewhere 14,000 in 14) and pays tolls and vignettes. Esso offers 6 months without account fees but doesn't publish the fee.6789

Cards: None listed yet: Shell and Esso don't publish German card fees.

  3. TotalEnergies stations (now Circle K)

    • TotalEnergies
    • Aral
    • AVIA
    • Eni
    • Westfalen

TotalEnergies sold its 1,198 German stations to Couche-Tard (Circle K) in Dec 2023; they keep the TotalEnergies fuel brand. Circle K Fleet Card (formerly TotalEnergies Fleet Card): '4.906 Akzeptanzstellen, davon 1.806 truckfähige', about 21,000 in Europe, at TotalEnergies, Aral, AVIA, Eni and Westfalen; about 130,000 charge points; monthly SEPA invoice.10

Cards: None listed: Circle K's fee table isn't fully published.

  4. Independent and regional brands

    • JET
    • Westfalen
    • AVIA
    • BayWa

JET Card: 688 JET stations, fee-free. Westfalen Service Card: up to 'über 5.500 Stationen in Deutschland' with the network-alliance version. AVIACARD: about 5,000 German stations incl. AVIA (about 900), Aral, TOTAL, Westfalen, tankpoint and BayWa; fees not published. Under the Aral–AVIA deal of 26 Mar 2024, AVIACARDs work at about 2,400 Aral stations and AVIA's 900 take Aral cards. BayWa Mobility Card: 'über 3.500 Tankstellen' and 95% of public charge points; fees not published (a reseller quotes from €0.99 a month).1112131415

Cards: JET Card, Westfalen Service Card

Multi-brand cards

  • LogPay Charge&Fuel Card 'Akzeptanznetz in DE: mehr als 10.000' incl. Aral, Esso, Total, AVIA, JET, star, eni, HEM and Westfalen; 23,000+ in Europe.16
  • DKV Card (Europe) 'ca. 98% aller öffentlichen Tankstellen in Deutschland' and about 210,000 charge points (Mar 2026). The German DKV Card Just Drive has a 'Niedrige Kartengebühr' (no amount; a reseller quotes €0.95 a month) and 2 ct/L gross at one home station.17
  • UTA Edenred fuel card A directory gives 62,000+ stations in 40 countries, another 84,000 (both third-party; UTA's own site wasn't read).18

Cross-refuelling in short

Most German oil-company cards already reach partner brands: Shell's works at AVIA, Eni, Esso, star and Westfalen; Aral's reaches Routex and, since 2024, AVIA; Westfalen's network-alliance card adds Aral, AVIA, OMV, Total and Agip. JET stations take DKV, Hoyer, LogPay, Novofleet and UTA cards. Novofleet (WEX) covers JET, star, HEM, Hoyer, OIL!, Q1 and others, about 3,000 sites (third-party). An older page says Esso stations accept Esso, Shell, DKV, UTA and LogPay cards (LogPay not at every site). Abroad, Routex (32 countries), Shell (26,000+ in Europe) and Circle K (UK to Bulgaria) go furthest, and DKV and UTA cover most of Europe; see the Europe page.12199
