Where can you fill up?

France mixes oil-company networks, supermarket and hypermarket stations, and multi-brand cards that reach both. Whether a card works at E.Leclerc, Intermarché or Carrefour stations is often the deciding question.

  1. TotalEnergies and AS 24

    • TotalEnergies
    • AS 24

TotalEnergies Fleet: '3 300 stations-service dans le réseau TotalEnergies' in France plus partners, and 18,000 across 12 other European countries (a 2026 reseller says about 3,500 in France). The French network stayed with TotalEnergies; Circle K bought only the German, Dutch, Belgian and Luxembourg businesses. AS 24 (100% TotalEnergies) is a truck network with its own Charge+ Truck EV charging; its station counts vary widely (about 1,000 to 2,000+ own stations) and its fees are quoted on request.123

  2. Shell, Esso and partners

    • Shell
    • Esso
    • Esso Express
    • AVIA
    • BP
    • Eni/Agip
    • E.Leclerc
    • FAL

Shell Card (Corpay): 2,370 to 3,000 stations in France (Corpay's pages differ) and 26,000 in Europe, accepted at AVIA, Esso, FAL Distribution, Eni/Agip, BP and E.Leclerc; it pays tolls, tunnels, bridges and ferries. Esso Card National: 'plus de 1 310 stations' (Esso, Esso Express, Avia and Shell). A French site citing WEX's tariff gives up to €5 HT per card per month and up to 3.5% on fuel (secondary). WEX Card (formerly GO): 2,400+ stations incl. E.Leclerc, Avia, Esso Express, Eni, BP, IDS, Carrefour and Vito in Corsica; fees from secondary sources only. Some BP stations in France are changing to Esso colours (per GO).456

Cards: None listed yet: Shell and Esso don't publish French card fees on their own pages.

  3. Supermarket and hypermarket cards

    • Intermarché
    • Netto
    • Roady
    • E.Leclerc
    • Carrefour
    • Système U

Intermarché Pro: 'plus de 1 800 stations-services' (Intermarché, Netto, Roady), free in year one. E.Leclerc Pro: €2.90 HT per card per month at pump price according to an Oct 2026 comparison site (older €2.50; not from E.Leclerc), 720 to 1,100+ stations. Carrefour Pro: free first year per comparison sites; 900 to 2,800 stations (sources conflict). Système U Pro: about 800 stations (comparison site). Easyfuel pairs an Intermarché card with a Shell card: '3 990 stations'.789

  4. Multi-brand cards

    • DKV
    • UTA Edenred
    • Ticket Fleet Pro
    • WEX Card
    • Enilive Multicard

Edenred Ticket Fleet Pro: 'plus de 5 600 stations-services' per a comparison site (6,000 elsewhere, 3,200 on an older Edenred page), incl. Auchan, Avia, BP, Carrefour, Cora, Dyneff, E.Leclerc, Eni, Esso, Intermarché, Shell and Super U; fees on quote (a launch report about 5 years old gave €8 HT a year per card plus a 2.5% fee). Enilive Multicard (Routex): 1,450 to 1,600+ stations in France incl. Enilive, Avia, Esso and 450+ TotalEnergies; 21,000 in 34 countries.81011

Cards: DKV Card (Europe), UTA Edenred fuel card

Multi-brand cards with published fees

  • DKV Card (Europe) In France: 'plus de 6 000 stations-service, dont plus de 3 100 à bas prix et 100 % des stations autoroutières' (directory listing); no joining or annual fee and no minimum volume; tolls through the DKV box, télépéage and free flow; 'récupération facilitée de la TVA étrangère'.1213
  • UTA Edenred fuel card '70 570 stations' in its multi-brand network and 1.2 million charge points, per a French comparison site.8

Cross-refuelling in short

Routex in France: bp cards are accepted at Agip/Eni, TotalEnergies and Avia. The bp/Aral–Total deal announced in 2018 is one-way in France: only bp cards issued outside France, and Routex cards, are accepted at about 300 Total stations in France, and Total cards aren't accepted at BP France; its current status is unconfirmed. Tax (secondary sources; check with your accountant): since 1 Jan 2022, VAT on petrol and diesel is 80% recoverable for passenger cars and 100% for vans and HGVs, with an invoice in the company's name. Hauliers and taxis can claim a partial refund of fuel excise from customs (a secondary source gives €15.56/hL for mainland France in 2026). Foreign VAT is claimed through the tax portal by 30 September of the following year (see the Europe page).14151617
